We Checked 55 NYC Taskrabbit Moving Listings. Here’s What the Hourly Prices Leave Out.
We checked 55 NYC Taskrabbit moving listings and two checkout breakdowns. See hourly rates, minimum charges, fees, and what the prices include.

A Taskrabbit mover listed at $53.68 per hour reached $73.44 per hour at checkout.
With that mover’s two-hour minimum, the minimum calculated charge was $146.88, before any applicable tax or optional tip.
Another listing advertised $77.43 per hour. Its checkout breakdown showed $105.93 per hour, bringing the two-hour minimum to $211.86.
If you’re budgeting to move a couch across New York, those are more useful numbers than the hourly price on the search card.
On October 10, 2026, we inspected 55 listings across four pages of Taskrabbit’s Truck Assisted Help Moving search, then checked two confirmation-page price breakdowns.
Here’s what we found, including what to confirm before choosing a mover.
The advertised rates ranged from $30.97 to $258.10 per hour
Across the 55 listings:

About seven in ten listings fell between $70 and $120 per hour.
These were advertised rates in one NYC search. They were not final invoices, and the listings did not all provide the same combination of people and equipment.
Some included one mover and a van. Others included two movers and a vehicle. Comparing the hourly numbers without reading those details can make a more expensive listing look less competitive than it actually is.
Two checkout breakdowns showed the difference
We inspected the pricing shown before submitting a booking:

Stanislav’s listing described one mover and a Sprinter van. Marlon’s description said pricing depended on the job’s scope.
In both previews, the added Trust & Support fee increased the advertised hourly rate by approximately 36.8%.
That percentage describes these two quotes. It should not be applied automatically to every Taskrabbit listing.
Taskrabbit’s official documentation describes both a Service Fee and a Trust & Support fee without publishing a fixed percentage on its fee explanation page. Our two previews showed an hourly rate and a separate Trust & Support line. We did not see a separate Service Fee line, so we did not add another assumed charge.
Neither booking was submitted. These were checkout previews, before any applicable tax or optional tip.
A short couch delivery can still carry a two-hour charge
Thirty-three of the 55 listings displayed a two-hour minimum badge.
For a single furniture pickup, the minimum can matter more than your estimate of how quickly the mover will finish.
Using the verified checkout rates:
- Marlon’s two-hour minimum calculated to $146.88.
- Stanislav’s two-hour minimum calculated to $211.86.
Finishing the job sooner does not eliminate an agreed minimum.
Taskrabbit’s published policy gives hourly tasks a one-hour minimum and allows Taskers to set a disclosed two-hour minimum. Time beyond the applicable minimum is billed in 15-minute increments. Minimum-hours policy
Some profiles also described longer requirements for particular moves. Confirm those requirements in the task chat before proceeding, especially if you’re moving an apartment rather than collecting one item.
Both checkout previews required a one-hour deposit. That deposit counted toward the job’s cost; it did not replace the two-hour minimum.
The rate is not necessarily “per mover”
One listing we inspected advertised $154.86 per hour for two movers and a large van, with a two-hour minimum.
Another advertised $216.80 per hour for two movers, a vehicle, and a certificate of insurance, while specifying that it accepted small moves only.
Those were advertised package descriptions. We did not verify their checkout totals.
The distinction matters if your couch needs two people. A lower-priced listing providing one mover may require a different arrangement than a listing already providing two.
Before comparing two listings, establish:

You need those answers to compare the cost of getting the same job done.
Vehicle use, stairs, parking, and tolls have a published pricing rule
Taskrabbit’s Pricing Transparency Policy says vehicle use, travel, gas, vehicle maintenance, stairs, parking, and tolls should be accounted for in the Tasker’s hourly rate. They cannot be separately billed as expenses.
That does not turn an hourly move into a fixed-price delivery.
If loading, carrying, or transportation takes longer, additional billable time can still affect the total. The distinction is between charging for time and adding a separate parking, stair, or vehicle expense.
For your move, ask when billable time begins and ends. Give the mover the pickup and delivery floors, elevator details, furniture dimensions, and carrying requirements before discussing duration.
What to ask before booking a Marketplace pickup
For one couch, dresser, or table, send the mover enough information to estimate the complete job.
You can use this message:
I need to move one [item] from [pickup location] to [delivery location]. Its dimensions are [dimensions]. Pickup is on floor [number], with [elevator or stairs]. Delivery is on floor [number], with [elevator or stairs]. I need it carried into the apartment. Please confirm how many movers and what vehicle your rate includes, your minimum billable time, when billing starts and ends, and the estimated total including platform fees.
Then compare that answer with the checkout breakdown.
A seller’s pickup window and your building’s access rules can affect whether the arrangement works, even when the price fits your budget.
Compare the complete move with other delivery offers
For a single furniture item, an hourly booking and a quote for the complete delivery are two different ways to price the work.
With the hourly option, compare:
Checkout hourly total × expected billable time, subject to the minimum.
With a delivery offer, confirm that the quoted total covers the same item, route, number of movers, and carrying requirements.
The $146.88 and $211.86 examples above give you concrete Taskrabbit minimums from two inspected previews. They do not establish what every Taskrabbit move costs or which service will be cheapest for your job.
If you’re comparing options through Laborhutt, provide those same pickup, delivery, and furniture details so the offers describe the work you actually need.
How we collected these prices
We inspected all four results pages in one NYC Truck Assisted Help Moving search on October 10, 2026, with “Within a Week” selected. The sample contained 55 listings.
We calculated the advertised-rate statistics from those listings and inspected two confirmation-page fee breakdowns. No bookings were submitted.
The listings mixed different mover counts, vehicles, and service descriptions. Rates and availability can change, and the sample is not a citywide average. The two checkout examples establish the prices shown for those selections, rather than a universal Taskrabbit fee percentage.
